How to make a primer liquid for flat lamination of the PVC, HPL sheets with decorative films?

To prepare a primer you need to take 100 parts by mass of methylene chloride (dichloromethane) and 5 mass parts of the polyester-based adhesive (widely used for PVC profile and PVC window sill wrapping), mix it thoroughly and the primer is ready to go! The difference from the original primer liquid – is absence of the fluorescent additive which allows control the surface cover of the primer visually. Using the automatic primer stations produced by «Klei Adhesive Machinery», will allow you to provide the right amount of the primer on the sheet, easy adjustment of consumption and visualization of application on substrates.

Why is the impermeability so necessary for adhesive application machines?

The polymerization reaction of single component polyurethane adhesive starts from the moment of contact with moisture. Water is a catalyst for chemical reaction of the single component polyurethane adhesive. If the adhesive application system is not fully hermetic, the polymerization process starts directly at the glue machine that causes it to clog. Our machines designed in fully hermetic way. The dosing pump is designed without using of any seals or bearings, the axial and radial spacings are not more than 6 microns.

Is it possible to use the drained compressed air system to pump the glue?

According to experience of the different adhesive application machines use, we can say that it is unreal to eliminate the all moisture from the air in the machine that feed the glue with compressed air. The system will be clogged with reacted glue very soon. Also, the wet air will come through the glue tank. Also it will be very difficult (almost impossible) to set the right adhesive consumption in case of the temperature difference at the factory. Our start/stop system will provide you with possibility to set the exact start and end of the glue on your substrates. This possibility is also not available with using of the compressed air of the huge glue lost at every cycle.

What means COLD SHOCK in process of bonding surfaces?

COLD SHOCK - a significant difference in temperature between adhesive and substrate. That means the too fast cooling of the adhesive that cause its inability to penetrate the substrate. Before lamination you need to prepare the materials the next way:

  • Acclimate the materials to 20-25 degrees during 24 hours;
  • Clean the surface from dust;
  • To avoid cold shock the materials must be heated to a temperature of 42-45 degrees.

What means ADHESIVE NOZZlES and what the material are made of?

Adhesive nozzles – are made of a special material that has no adhesion with glue. Special nozzles diameter, is calculated for a certain number of passes of the adhesive agent (polyurethane adhesives, EPI systems, etc.). Glue nozzles installed at the end of the adhesive tract in equipment with use of single component polyurethane adhesives, such as machines and lines for PVC sandwich panels production, SIP panels, equipment for the gluelam, laminated veneer lumber and multilayered parquet lamella.

 

What wood will be the perfect match for glulam production?

Glulam (Gluelam), profiled beam, laminated veneer lumber – is made of coniferous wood, predominantly spruce and pine, cedar. In North America and Japan, glulam also made of cedar and Douglas fir. Constructions that are made from northern wood have the highest strength class. Due to the fact that during the manufacturing process used lamellas which are cleared from defective places, glulam beam has more superior quality class than solid wood.

Fluorescence additive - a substance capable to absorb ultraviolet light and emit it in the visible spectrum. Introducing into the adhesive agent for visualization adhesive using black light lamps. KAM Flat Lamination machines equipped with UV lamps, which facilitates the work of the operator.
